Quick Tip

Sorry I have been gone so long but I am still unpacking. Man, We have alot of stuff. I was hoping to post tomorrow but it ain't looking so good. However, I did find this great website that I must share. It is called this to that. There are 2 drop down menus and in each you select what you want to glue to what and it recommends products to try. How great is that! I did not, however, find Little Brother to Roof, so have no fear moms if your little ones should find this website. There are also no recommendations on ungluing, so if you wanted to, say, unglue your husband from motorcycle races that air all day Sat and Sun, tough. I find that yelling, also, does not work. That is not completely proven, still just a theory though. Maybe I need a better control? I will let you know.

The Grass is always greener on the other side...

That is so true! But now the grass is mine! We moved last week and I am totally in love with my house. While I don't love find a place for everything (you don't realize how much you take that for granted till you move). My favorite thing about my new house. Right, like I could name one. Here is a list for your pleasure:

• Front Porch
• Dog Door
• Back Porch
• Kich-ass neighborhood with neighbors who wave and say hi then want to converse and exchange names
• Back yard 1000ft from State Park with Mill ruins and giant creek with rock in the middle for you to run on and slip on your butt.
• Not taking the interstate to and from work
• Big Windows
• Blank Slate
• Master Bathroom that is not also the only downstairs bathroom/guest bath room
• Finally, a manageable yard that doesn't take me 2.5 hours to mow with trees, thank you very much. Welcome Home!
  P.s. I didn't make anything last week but newspaper smudges on the walls.

The Winner is...

Apologies for the lateness. It seems that there was so mix-up with the closing (still set for tomorrow) and I was in major freak out mode on Friday evening and saturday morning, with many calls to my realtor. 30 min into our trip down to Savannah for my brother's wedding, I smack my forehead. "I forgot to draw for my blog contest, CRAP!" Well, The wedding was a huge success and so much fun. We met at Whitfield Square for the rehersal then drove to Tybee Island to the Crab Shack. They have a hole in every table with a trash can underneath for eating crab legs. I had the "Half BBQ Chicken" Crab legs and Garrett had the Crab "Ribs" since we don't eat seafood. Given that this was not a chicken and ribs place, they were excellent. Best corn EVER! 5 Stars. The next day they said there vows in a gazebo in Whitefield Square with a great breeze. We all went down to the docks and boarded a River Boat brunch cruise and ate more excellent food. My stomach is still recovering. It may never forgive me for leaving Savannah. Oh and we bought Pralines and Peanut Butter Fudge from River Street Sweets. Yumm.

T minus 4 days and counting

Granted this is not the most recent picture. This was taken on July 21st. We have a really great door now that is painted the rusty red color trimming the windows. But the landscaping is in and everything inside is all fixed up and waiting for us. Here is our schedule:
Thursday: Get lovely new haircut for Brother's wedding, plus pick up spray on pantyhose so I can practice before the big day (I am not wearing hose, it will be too HOT). Thursday night finish my snazzy new dress for wedding. I posted my mocked up inspiration dress over here.
Friday: Hurry home and pack and snuggle with dogs as much as possible. Pick Zinnias from garden to make a pretty bouquet to give to Gretchen at the rehearsal dinner.
Saturday: wake relatively early, wait for Bill (our dog watcher) to arrive. Take off to Savannah. Arrive, check in to hotel, meet my pal Brandi (also the officiant of ceremony) and her son and have lunch. Walk around and stop by Wet Willies for frozen drinks (like "Call a Cab"!). Go to rehearsal dinner. Go back to Wet Willies.
Sunday: Stand up for Brother at his early morning wedding in one of the squares in old Savannah. Party on riverboat and eat great food. Stop by Wet Willie's on way out of town. Go home pack
Mon: 9am walk through. 10am Close on house. 11am: move in!
