Amy Butler, Freshcut & Simplicity

I was busy last weekend. I really wanted something new to wear. Something summer before summer is over. I have been wanting to make the Barcelona Skirts Overlay for a while too. Apologies for the severe look. You never know when the picture will take and I was getting bored. This is simplicity 4589 made out of Freshcut. It was easy but not beginner easy. I had some trouble with the sleeves but next time I think I will use chalk and transfer the marks. It fits great!
This is the apron overlay by Amy Butler, Barcelona Skirts. It was fun and really easy to make too. I think next time I will not sew up the bottom but sew both sides to the waist band, turn it out and topstitch the bottom. If my stitches are going to not be perfect, I would rather it be on the hem than the waist.

Love both of the garments. I've still got a few summer items that I want to sew, but I have a feeling Fall will arive before I have a chance to sew them all.

All the smiling pictures are blurry. It doesn't help to have 3 dogs running around you while taking pictures on timer :)
